Perl and Porto began collaborating in New York City in early 2009. After a couple video singles, including "This is Reality" and "Pure Love" gaining some local success, they independently released a full length LP "Third Culture", which is available on iTunes now.
This debut album is a deep exploration of traditional cultural influences driven by modern electronic rhythms. Some of the featured vocalists include a Grammy Nominated Cuban singer, Xiomara Laugart and a Korean Buddhist Monk, Hye Tong Sunim.
With Perl and Porto both being 'third culture kids', their musical style and personality come through in every track, fusing the album conceptually, while interpreting many different genres from traditional Greek folk and Korean Buddhist chanting to House, Hip-Hop and Reggae.
